What to Do With Little Plastic Coffee Creamer Cups

Things to do with Little Plastic Coffee Creamer Cups by Renee' Macfarlane

  1. Take square paper doilies and cut them into 3/4" strips. Then take the strips and staple them to the open end of the cups making a handle. These can then be filled with little candies, nuts, etc. They are great for children's birthday parties, luncheons, etc. You can put a piece of masking tape on the bottom with a number on it for a "raffle" for door prizes.

  2. Put the cups on a newspaper in a well-ventilated area and spray paint them gold or silver, and sprinkle with glitter. Then poke a hole in the center of the bottom with an ice pick, ballpoint pen, or whatever else will work. Take a 2-3" piece of white pipe cleaner and thread through a silver or gold pony bead. Twist the pipe cleaner around the pony bead, and then thread the end of the pipe cleaner that does not have the pony bead through the open end of the cup and pull through just enough so you can still see the pony bead. Twist the pipe cleaner so that it forms a loop just over the hole on the bottom of the cup. You now have little bells for anything you wish to decorate i.e.: weddings, anniversaries, Christmas, floral decorations, etc.

This is such a neat idea! I'm definitely going to try this

Clever ideas. I use them for mixing paints especially when I only need a small amount. I also use soda bottle caps to mix paints, glue with glitter or want to only use a small amount on the end of a toothpick, etc.

Any kind of picture would help me alot.

Can you add a picture. Thanks Amanda

I found most of these coffee creamer projects completely useless, because without pictures, the instructions are as good as if they were written in Chinese. This doesn't include suggestions to just store something in them, but the ones on how to make something out of them. Pictures pleas!!!

Using stir sticks as stems, creamers make really nice flowers. The creamer is cut down the sides {leaving the bottom intact, but with a small slit, big enough to fit the stir stick through] I usually cut so there are six petalsTrim the top of each petal to a V. run them over the blunt side of the siccors to bend out like petalsCur 1 end of the stir stick into strips, about 1/4 down and run over blunt end of scissors to fan out. about 1/4 inch down cut small V's in both sides of stir stick. Put bottom end of stick down tru slit in creamer till you reach the slots.Turn half way. Voila, a flower. I have also used acrylic paints to paint the floweres, if you want different colors.

I use them for storing the small alphabet letters used in scrapbooking.

What a great idea -- both suggestions 1) making little party candy cups, or 2) spraypainting gold, etc. and making bells. I would never have thought of either of these creative ideas. Thanks for your creative suggestions!

If you do any airbrush painting these are really great for mixing small quantities of lots of colors without waste.

After being washed well, rinsed and dried, they are great for sorting beads for projects that have several small quantities of beads....and will stack for storage when you have to set a project aside. Same works for the small lidded containers that sour cream, pico, guac, etc come in when you go through the drive up. The bonus there is they have lids...

Would like to see a picture of the finished 'bell'. Thanks.

o m g i could get a million of these, I work as a dishwasher at a very busy diner and I already save ketchup bottles, jellied cranberry plastic jugs, scallop shells, and other things. One day i was thinking what i could make out of the butter packets and milk cups. If i start saving them the girls will think im crazy..i mean crazier, lol. but its a good idea,I think i will save a few and see what I can do with them, thanks for the great ideas, Leota
