"This Linen Stitch Basket is great for holding your yarn or other small items. By using the linen stitch in alternating colors, vertical stripes are created. Choose your favorite colors of Hoooked Ribbon XL yarn to make this pattern your own. The base of the basket is single crochet, making it very sturdy. If your base buckles, then just wet block your basket to get it into shape. Size: 7″ diameter by 3.5″ high (or desired height) Yarn: Hoooked Ribbon XL 80% recycled cotton, 20% other recycled fibers, 250 g/132 yds Color A: Sea Blue – 1 skein: 90 g/50 yds Color B: Salad Green – 1 skein: 90 g/50 yds Hook: US-J/10, 6.0mm Gauge: 12 sts x 12 rows = 4” [10 cm] in linen st."

This linen stitch basket gives the appearance of a real basket weave. I have never heard of this stitch before but I am going to hunt for more projects using the stitch. I love that the designer used more than one color. I believe that is what make the design stand out more.

This will be my first time using ribbon as the medium to create a project. I am interested in knowing just how it will work. This is my new thing for the week.
