Materials:
- 4.50mm Crochet Hook
- 8ply Yarn
- Scissors
- Tapestry/ Wool Needle
- 40 cm Ribbon
Instructions:
- Taking your hook and wool make a Slip Knot then chain 30 Chain Stitches. Join to first chain with a Slip Stitch, but be very careful not to twist the chain!
- Row 1 Chain 2 then Half Double Crochet in each chain all the way around. Join with slip stitch to the second chain of the last stitch.
- Row 2,3,4,5,6 Chain up 2. Half double crochet in every stitch all the way around. Join with slip stitch to the second chain of the last stitch. {If you have larger hands you can easily make the palm/hand space longer by adding a few more rows.}
- Row 7 Chain up 2. Half double crochet in the next 9 stitches. Now it's time to make the hole for the thumb. Chain 4 then skip next 4 stitches. Half double crochet in the remaining stitches. As always, join with a slip stitch to the second chain of the last stitch.
- Row 8-15 Chain up 2. Half double crochet in every stitch all the way around. Join with slip stitch to the second chain of the last stitch. If you would like your gloves to be longer, just simply add more rows!
- Row 16 Now turn your work so that the wrong side is now facing you. Chain 3 then double crochet into the first stitch. Slip stitch into the next stitch. Now it's time to have some fun making the edging! Start by yarning over, then insert your hook through the next stitch, yarn over again and pull back through the stitch. Now you have 3 loops on your crochet hook.
- Now yarn over again and pull through 2 of those 3 loops on the hook. Now you have 2 loops left. Yarn over again and insert your hook into the SAME stitch. Yarn over and pull the loop back through the stitch. Now you have 4 loops. Yarn over and pull through all of them.
- Slip stitch in the next stitch. Continue to do this till you reach the end. Then fasten off!
- Now if you want your gloves to look super cute, weave a thin piece of ribbon through the stitches near the bottom of the glove!

I really like Elizabeth Bennet's Lacy Hand Warmers. I make and use fingerless gloves all winter long here in Michigan. I love the easy of this pattern and the thin ribbon is a nice added touch. The pattern is very well written and so easy with the pictures I think even someone new to crocheting could make these. They are nice enough to wear out on a night out on the town. Thank you for this free crochet pattern.
