as needed, * work 2 rows CC, 8 rows MC, 2 rows CC, 12 rows MC; rep from * for Stripe Sequence.

NOTES

2. After striped piece is completed, two strands of Contrast Color (CC) are woven across the stripes to create the plaid pattern, then wrap is
fringed on three sides.

(RS) Beg Stripe Sequence; work sequence 11 times, end with 12 rows MC—264 rows total; pm each side for hem. Cont with MC, work even for 6 more rows. BO all sts loosely.

FINISHING
Hems: Fold 6 rows at CO and BO edges to WS and sew neatly in place. On one long side, fold 4 sts to WS and sew neatly in place.
Crochet Edging: With RS facing, using crochet hook and MC, join yarn with a slip st to corner of long side opposite hem; ch 1, work 1 row sc evenly along edge. Fasten off.
Markers for Plaid Stripes: Counting from side with crocheted edge, pm on Sts 7, 9, 18, 20, 33, 35, 44, 46, 59, 61, 70, 72, 85, 87, 96, 98, 111, 113, 122 and 124.
Weave Plaid Stripes: Using CC, cut 40 strands each 64" long. Using tn or bodkin, beg at first marker at one end, weave double strand of CC over and under every 4 rows for plaid stripes, alternating sts on each set of 2 stripes by beg every second stripe 2 rows from edge, and leaving an equal length of yarn at each end. Cont until wrap has been completely woven.
Fringe – ends: Using CC, cut 100 strands each 10" long. Holding 5 strands tog, fold fringe in half. Using crochet hook, * insert hook from WS to RS into first st at first woven stripe, pull through loop [fold of strands], insert ends into loop (including strand from woven stripe) and pull tight against edge; repeat from *, adding a Fringe at both ends of every woven stripe across both ends. Fringe – long edge: Using CC, cut 372 strands each 10" long. Holding 6 strands tog, working as for Fringe on ends, attach 62 Fringes,
evenly spaced along long edge. Using tn, weave in ends.
