Using your pinking shears, cut a piece of fabric just larger than the glass and set it aside.
-
Measure the sides of the frame where you want to put the handles and drill the pilot holes.
-
Screw the handles to both sides of the frame.
-
To finish, lay the fabric on top and secure the mat backings.

Do you have that friend or family member that likes things that are real different that are maybe one of a kind then check this video on how to make this picture frame serving tray. Just take back off of frame, clean glass, put down a piece of fabric to your liking and put on a pretty handle(I would put on both the sides) put back on and there you go. How cool is that. Nice project. There is a written tutorial too.

I love this idea. I've actually made something really similar, but covered a piece of foam board in velvety fabric instead of reusing the glass. I mostly use it for beading, but it works well as a tray in a pinch. Attaching handles would be a big help. Covering the existing glass in fabric probably makes a much sturdier tray than foam board, though!

This is such a cute idea. It could definitely bring character to a room as an accent piece as well.
