  • Red wool felt, 9" X 18"
  • Natural wool fiber
  • Red check cotton fabric scrap, 2" x 45"

  • Pencil
  • Ruler
  • Scissors
  • Needlefelting tool
  • Sewing needle and thread: button; linen
  • Straight pins (optional)
  • Low-temp glue gun and glue sticks
  • Fabric glue or thick, white craft glue

  1. Trace each foam heart twice onto red wool felt and cut out. In addition, cut 1/2" x 18" felt strips cover foam sides. Glue felt to corresponding foam areas; trim excess.
  2. Place small amount of wool fiber against first heart and refer to photo to needlefelt a 1/2"tall "X" shape; repeat seven more times for total of eight letters.
  3. Shape small amount of wool fiber into rough heart and needlefelt to center of second foam heart; add more fiber as needed. Glue button to center of heart.
  4. Roll nine small balls from wool fiber and needlefelt to third heart for "O" letters as shown.
  5. Tear fabric strip in half lengthwise and cut three 20" lengths. Glue hearts to one length as shown and tie remaining lengths into bows; glue bows to ends of fabric strip.
