Absolutely Adorable DIY Toddler Skunk Costume

Materials List

  • Black Hooded Sweatshirt 
  • Black Sweatpants
  • Black Fabric or Felt (for tail) 
  • Batting - to fill tail 
  • Black Marabou Boas - One Boa = 2yds/ 2 Boas recommended 
  • White Marabou Boas - One Boa = 2yds/ 2 Boas recommended 
  • Needle & Thread 

Instructions

  1. On a piece of fabric, sketch out the tail shape.  The size can differ; refer to photo for the basic shape.  Cut out two tail shapes. 

  2. Stack the two black tail shape fabric pieces and then the batting piece on top.  Sew around the edge, leaving a 3-4inch opening at the top.

  3. Flip the tail inside out and sew onto the sweatshirt.

  4. Arrange a white marabou boa down the center of the costume, running from head to tail. Pin the boa down and hand stitch into place every 3-4 inches.

  5. Position black marabou boas on both sides of the white boa. Pin these down and sew on to secure. 

  6. There you have it! Have your little one wear black pants or leggings to complete the costume. 

    Your adorable little skunk is ready to trick-or-treat!
