Rock Lady Bug

From the Blogger: "Round rocks are perfect for creating little critters, such as a lady bug. Kids can easily paint one... or more. They look really cute decorating flower boxes or flower beds, but can also be used as a paper weight for the desk. It is an easy project for school aged kids and all that is required to make these will be some paint, a paint brush and a little time to wait for the bug to dry."

Rock painting is the in thing. The kids are doing it at school and libraries are doing it too and this ladybug is sure to become a favorite. What a great idea for a teacher's desk,a co-worker or soeone who just loves ladybugs. This would look so great in a garden. You could even add some glitter paint so it has some sparkle or neon paint. I love these and so simple and inexpensive. A great summer project too.

Many years ago, more than I would like to admit, I made this very same type of lady bug rock, as my nickname back then was 'bugs' because I could wriggle my nose like a certain bunny! Add a coat of clear shellac for some shine and protection and place in the garden or on a flower or plant pot. A fun gift for a gardener!
