Pink and Blue Star Box

This is a great crafting with kids project. It's great for all those little things you want to keep organized. If your little one has her ears pierced she can use that as a container.

  • Palette Knife
  • DT02 - Palette Knife
  • Americana Brushes
  • DBR2003-B - Round #3
  • DBF2575-B - Flat 3/4"
  • DBF3012-B - Shader #12
  • Set of three wooden star boxes
  • Tracing and transfer paper
  • Water container
  • Palette or foam plate
  • Paper towels
  • Scissors or craft knife
  • Foam sheet
  • Fine sandpaper
  • Tack cloth
  • Masking tape
  • Pattern




  1. Adjust patterns to fit boxes.
  2. Trace and transfer star onto foam. Use craft knife or scissors to cut out shape for stencil.
  3. Trace lettering and star patterns.
  4. Sand boxes and wipe with tack cloth.

Note: Allow paint to dry between steps.

Large Box:

  1. Basecoat box Soft Lilac using 3/4" brush.
  2. Transfer star pattern.
  3. Paint stripes on box and lid using 3/4" brush and Country Blue.
  4. Paint Citron Green stripe on lid using #12 shader brush.
  5. Paint "star" using #12 shader brush and Boysenberry Pink.
  6. Using #3 round brush and Lamp Black, outline stripes and lettering.
  7. Use palette knife to scoop and spread Pink Liquid Beadz inside star stencil.
  8. Carefully remove stencil and let dry completely.

Middle Box:

  1. Basecoat box Soft Lilac using 3/4" brush.
  2. Paint lid and stripes using Country Blue and #12 shader brush.
  3. Transfer star pattern.
  4. Paint star on lid using Citron Green and #12 shader brush.
  5. Paint outline around star using Boysenberry Pink and #3 round brush.
  6. Use handle end of brush and Boysenberry Pink to make a border of dots around star.
  7. Using #3 round brush and Lamp Black, outline stripes and star design on lid.

Small Box:

  1. Paint box and lid using 3/4" brush and Country Blue.
  2. Use #12 shader brush and Citron Green to paint stripes around edge of lid.
  3. Transfer star pattern.
  4. Paint star on top using Boysenberry Pink and #12 shader brush.
  5. Using Lamp Black and #3 round brush, outline star and stripes.
  6. Use palette knife to scoop and spread Pink Liquid Beadz inside star stencil. After carefully removing stencil, let dry completely.


Seal all pieces using Triple Thick Gloss Glaze Spray. Mist several light coats, allowing to dry completely between coats.
