Valentine Flowers Gift Set

Follow these instructions from Heidi Borchers of Inspired at Home to create a Valentine's Day gift set complete with embellished T-shirt, card and matching gift bag. This clever Valentine's Day craft uses fabric scraps for all the embellishments.


Valentine Flowers Gift Set

 

Materials: For one set

For each:

  • Fabric scraps- assorted prints
  • Fusible Web
  • Letters ruler or guide (available in crafts or art supply stores)
  • Dimensional Paints-assorted colors
  • Patterns

For shirt:

  • T-shirt- pink
  • Cardboard covered with wax paper
  • White lace trim: 21” lengths (or lengths to fit width of shirt), 2 lengths
  • ½” wide and 2 lengths 1”- wide
  • Aleene’s O.K. to Wash it Glue

For card:

  • Paper medium weight- pink

For gift bag:

  • Gift bag small


Instructions:


Wash and dry fabric scraps and shirt; do not use fabric softener in the washer or dryer. Fuse web to wrong side of fabric scraps. Transfer patterns to the paper side of the fusible web and cut out.

For shirt, place cardboard covered with waxed paper inside the shirt. Glue the 1 length of 1” wide trim across shirt front just below neckline. Measure down 1-1/8” from first trim and glue 1 length of ½ “ wide trim across shirt front. Trim lace to fit shirt front as necessary. Let dry.

Referring to photo, fuse fabric pieces to shirt front. Embellish fabric appliqués and add lettering with dimensional paint. Let dry.

For card, fold paper in half widthwise. Referring to photo, fuse fabric pieces to card front. Embellish fabric appliqués and add lettering with dimensional paints. Let dry.

For Bag, referring to photo, fuse fabric pieces to bag front. Embellish fabric appliqués and add lettering with dimensional paints. Let dry.
