1. Cover table wtih plastic table cover
2. Place dye bottles, a bucket, a roll of paper towels, and sealable plastic bags at each tie dye station

The Best Tie Dye Fabric
Something important you should know about tie dye is what the best tie dye fabric is to use! Short answer: fabrics that take dyes the best are natural fabrics. Cotton is far and away the most common, but other natural fibers that work well include silk, hemp, and rayon.
Sometimes it can be challenging to find fabrics that are 100% made from natural fibers. You'll want to get as close to 100% as possible. A 90/10 ratio is fine blended with polester or lycra, but if the blend more like 50/50, the color may become faded.
Your standard tie dye will not work on synthetic fibers. This includes the thread of the tee shirt if the shirt is cotton but the thread is polyester! Your shirt will dye perfectly but the thread will remain white.

I love tie and dye patterns...they're so fun and easy to do. I love that you can dye almost anything you own except for furniture. Its a very easy craft to do...very colorful and you get to choose what color you want to decorate with. If I could tie and dye my carpet, I'd probably do it.

Me and my little ones are absolutely obsessed with tie dye shirts. Most of all I think they love making a mess of the dining table. But this is a great idea for a rainy day or just a regular Saturday with the wee ones! Thanks for the clear and precise instructions it makes it easy to follow for newbies like myself! It's also a great project for those who do summer camps. If you section of groups into teams and give each team an array of colours they can make team shirts and can even add fabric paint to further customize their tops and even add team names! Get messy and have fun!!

I have never tie-dyed but my 12 yr old grandson did in school. He loves the tie-dye tops I wear and did a good job on his project so we decided to do some at home together. We have the white shirts, just need to get the supplies so it would be awesome to have a kit like this. And now I know where to go for tips and ideas when we get ready to be creative! FavecraftsTieDye. It has been a long time since I did tie dye. It was in elementary school and It was a tee shirt with 3 different colors. It was in class for a school project. We wrapped string around it instead of the rubber bands which I think is a better option. This is such a easy craft to do with a child or grand kid. Can make the shirt your own. Anyone done this with there grand kids yet?

We did a tie dye birthday party for my granddaughter. We even had tie dyed cupcakes! It was fun to see how each child's t-shirt and the baby's onesie turned out, when they all used the same colors, just placed the rubber bands in different places.

My only comment about this, is that I'd really like to see the end result on the same page as the instructions. And it's all instruction pages. Not only this page, but most pages. Would be the frosting on the cake, so to speak. :-)
