This free apron pattern has got to be one of the cutest beginner sewing patterns out there. The Half Apron Sewing Project video will show you how to sew an apron from start to finish. Using half a yard of two different fabrics, this simple sewing project would make a fantastic housewarming gift for a friend. You could even sew up this DIY apron in two holiday prints to make sure you have a festive baking wardrobe this holiday season. 1/2 yard of fabric A
1/2 yard of fabric B (size 8 or smaller, 3/4 for larger size)
Plate

Instructions

Cut off selvages. Using plate round corner of the out side of apron ( fabric A). From fabric B cut off selvages and cut into 2 9 inch by 40 inch stripes. Take one strip and cut into half, so you have 1 strip that is 9 by 40 and 2 that are 9 by 20.
Finish the edge of the top and sides of the spring with a baby hem. The baste or gather the top into a light to medium ruffle.
For the waistband sew the three strips together using a .5 inch seam allowance. Then it’s time to iron. Turn on side down 1 inch and press, turn the other down .5 inch and press.

What a super great half apron video. A great beginner project to make and learn how to sew. She takes her time explaining how to make the apron and some really great tips and tricks to make it easier and to make it right. If you keep these tips in mind when making other things you have learned well. The take it slow it is not a race to complete a project is great advice. These aprons make a great gift for that baker in the family and must have some for yourself. Make one for each season or a few so you can change out when washing the other. Great way to use up that leftover fabric and put some away for last minute gifts.Well Done.
