Materials:

  • Opaque white shrink plastic
  • Fine grit sandpaper
  • Fine-tip permanent black marker
  • Colored pencils – yellow, red, green, flesh
  • ¼” diameter hole punch
  • Non-stick baking sheet
  • Scissors
  • Wooden skewer
  • 46” length gold metallic cord
  • Beads – 16 (8-mm) red faceted crystal, 16 (6-mm) green faceted crystal, 26 (5-mm) white faceted
  • Aleene’s® Tacky Glue™
  • 2 (5-mm) jump rings
  • Pair fishhook earrings
  • Needlenose pliers
  • Patterns

Instructions:

  1. Sand 1 side of shrink plastic so that pen and colored pencils will adhere. For best results, sand both vertically and horizontally. With black marker, trace patterns onto sanded side of plastic – 3 large angels, 4 stars and 2 tiny angels. (Marker ink may run slightly on sanded surface – this effect will disappear when plastic is shrunk.) Use colored pencils to color designs. Remember that colors will intensify through shrinking process.) Cut out designs. Punch 1 hole in each tiny angel where indicated on pattern.

  2. Pre-heat toaster oven or conventional oven according to shrink plastic directions. Place on room temperature non-stick baking sheet, place in oven and bake according to package instructions. When design have shrunk and are laying flat, remove first large angel from oven (remember that pieces are hot to the touch) and quickly place bamboo skewer on top back of halo, bend tab down over skewer. Let cool. Remove skewer. Repeat with each large angel and each star. If you have any difficulties with this step, place piece back in oven to reheat and repeat process.

  3. For necklace, knot cord 14” from 1 end. Referring to photo for beading pattern, thread beads, large angels, and stars onto gold cord from opposite end of cord. Knot cord after last bead. Glue 1 white bead on each end of cord. Let dry.

  4. For each earring. Use pliers to attach 1 jump ring to hole in 1 tiny angel and then attach jump ring to fishhook earring.
