Scary Googly Eye Barrette

By:

Here is a Halloween craft idea that reminds us of old cartoons where creepy eyes peek out in unexpected places. With this Scary Googly Eye Barrette, those spooky eyes can peer out of your own hair. This is an easy craft for Halloween that will only take a few minutes to create. No matter what size barrette you may desire, you can make a Scary Googly Eye Barrette that will satisfy your Halloween accessory needs. Welcome the creepy critters into your hair with this easy barrette.

Notes

Materials:

  • Aleene's Stop Fraying
  • French barrette
  • Googly eyes
  • 6" of 1/2" wide black velvet ribbon
  • Hot glue gun
  • Hot glue sticks
  • Scissors

Instructions:

  1. Measure the ribbon along the length of your barrette.  In my case the barrette is 4" long, so I cut a 4.5" piece.  Cut notches into the ribbon on each end.  Add a dab of Aleene's Stop Fraying to prevent the ribbon from unraveling.

  2. Squeeze a line of hot glue onto the barrette back, center the ribbon and press firmly in place.

  3. Arrange the googly eyes onto the barrette.  I chose a large on for the center and two smaller ones for each side of it.  Glue into place.
