An easy way to have a custom-made welcome basket for your door is to take a plain wall vase and decorate it with your favorite photos or artwork. Here we used a photo from a magazine, simply embellished with beads, tape, and thread.

Sunflower Wall Pocket

Materials:

  • Plain wall vase
  • Photo or artwork
  • Two 8” x 10” Treasure Tape sheets
  • Diamond Beadlets
  • Shallow pan or tray
  • Kreinik #12 Braid in colors to coordinate with your picture

Steps:

  1. Remove the red liner from one of the 8” x 10” sheets and lay your photo or artwork centered on the top.

  2. Remove the white liner from the other Treasure Tape sheet, and lay it on top of your photo.

  3. Remove this red liner and begin thread decorating. Lay the braid on the image, outlining areas, filling in areas, and ‘writing’ as desired.

  4. When thread decorating is complete, lay the photo in a shallow pan or tray and cover all remaining sticky areas with Diamond Beadlets®.

  5. Peel the white liner off the back of your photo and adhere image to the center front of your wall vase.
