Striped Lavender Baby Blanket

This baby blanket crochet pattern creates stripes of lavender and white with a pretty trim. This crochet blanket makes a great gift for a baby shower. You only need 2 balls of each color to make this blanket.

Materials:

• Yarn: 2 balls Bernat Baby Bouclé (100 g/3.5 oz) Main Color (MC) (Violet), 2 balls of Contrast A (White)
• Crochet Hook: Size 6.5 mm (U.S. K or 10 1/2) or size needed to obtain gauge.

Gauge:

12 sts and 12 rows = 4" [10 cm] in pat.

Measurements:

Approx 30 x 36" 76 x 91.5 cm.
 

Pattern:

With MC, ch 90.
Foundation row: (RS). 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. *Ch 1. Miss next ch. 1 sc in next ch. Rep from * to end of ch. Join A. Turn. 89 sts.
1st row: With A, ch 1. 1 sc in first sc. *1 sc in next ch-1 sp. Ch 1. Miss next sc. Rep from * to last 2 sts. 1 sc in next ch-1 sp. 1 sc in last sc. Turn.
2nd row: Ch 1. 1 sc in first sc. *Ch 1. Miss next sc. 1 sc in next ch-1 sp. Rep from * to last 2 sts. Ch 1. Miss next sc. 1 sc in last sc. Join MC. Turn.
3rd row: With MC, as 1st row.
4th row: With MC, as 2nd row, ending with join A. Turn. Last 4 rows form pat.
Cont in pat until work from beg measures approx 35" [89 cm], ending with a 4th row of pat and omitting turning ch at end of last row. Fasten off.

Edging: With RS of work facing, join MC with sl st at top right corner. Ch 1. Work 73 sc across top of Blanket. Work 3 sc in corner. Work 95 sc evenly down side edge. Work 3 sc in corner. Work 73 sc evenly across bottom edge. Work 3 sc in corner. Work 95 sc evenly up other side edge. Work 3 sc in corner. 348 sc. Join with sl st to first sc.
Next round: *Ch 3. 1 sc in 3rd ch from hook - Picot made. 1 sc in each of next 2 sts. Rep from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off.
