Baby Crochet Beanie

Crocheting for baby has never been as simple or fun. This Baby Crochet Beanie is an adorable project that you'll love to make for any little ones in your life. If you're new to crochet, this is a great way to learn how to make a hat. Babies need a little something extra on their tiny heads to keep them cozy and warm. Baby Crochet Beanie is a crochet beanie pattern that will surely do the trick, and your baby will look cute as a button while wearing it.

Materials:

  • 10.00 Crochet Hook
  • 7.00 Crochet Hook
  • 4.50 Crochet Hook
  • 8ply Yarn
  • Wool/Tapestry Needle
  • Scissors

Size:

  • Head Circumference: 18 to 20 Inches 46 -48 cm.
  • Beanie/Hat Height:  8 Inches   20 cm

Instructions:

Beanie

  1. Row 1 Start by making a Slip Knot with your 10.00 crochet hook, then Chain 5. Slip Stitch into the first chain you made (this creates a circle), then chain up 3 (this will count as the first double crochet of the cluster). *Crochet a Double Crochet but don't do the last step of the stitch. (you'll now have 2 loops left on your crochet hook)
     
  2.  Repeat from the *, (you'll now have 3 loops on your crochet hook) Yarn over, and pull through all 3 loops on the hook. Chain 2.
     
  3.  *Now taking your crochet hook, crochet a Cluster Stitch into the circle, and chain 2. Repeat from the * 4 more times. (you'll now have 6 cluster stitches) Slip stitch in the next 2 stitches, until you get to the chain 2 space.
     
  4. Row 2 Chain up 3, (this will count as the first double crochet of the cluster). *Crochet a double crochet but don't do the last step of the stitch. (you'll now have 2 loops left on your crochet hook) Repeat from the *, (you'll now have 3 loops on your crochet hook) Yarn over, and pull through all 3 loops on the hook. Chain 2. Crochet a cluster stitch in the same chain 2 space, then chain 2.
     
  5.  *Crochet a cluster in the next space, chain 2, crochet a cluster in the same space, chain 2. Repeat from the * 4 more times. (you'll now have 12 cluster stitches) Slip stitch in the next 2 stitches, until you get to the chain 2 space.
     
  6. Row 3  Chain up 3, (this will count as the first double crochet of the cluster). *Crochet a double crochet but don't do the last step of the stitch. (you'll now have 2 loops left on your crochet hook) Repeat from the *, (you'll now have 3 loops on your crochet hook) Yarn over, and pull through all 3 loops on the hook. Chain 2. Crochet a cluster stitch in the same chain 2 space, then chain 2.
     
  7.  *Crochet a cluster in the next space, chain 2. Crochet cluster into the next space, chain 2. Crochet a cluster, chain 2, crochet a cluster in the same space, chain 2. Repeat from the * all around. Slip stitch in the next 2 stitches, until you get to the chain 2 space.
     
  8. Row 4-8 Chain up 3, (this will count as the first double crochet of the cluster). *Crochet a double crochet but don't do the last step of the stitch. (you'll now have 2 loops left on your crochet hook) Repeat from the *, (you'll now have 3 loops on your crochet hook) Yarn over, and pull through all 3 loops on the hook. Chain 2.
     
  9.  *Crochet a cluster in the next space, chain 2. Repeat from the * all around. Slip stitch in the next 2 stitches, until you get to the chain 2 space.
     
  10. Row 9  Taking your 7.00 crochet hook, chain up 1, and then Single Crochet into every stitch and chain all around the beanie. Slip stitch into your chain 1.
     
  11. Row 10 Chain up 2, *Crochet a Double Crochet into the next stitch, then Front Double Post Stitch into the next stitch. Repeat from the * all around the beanie. Slip stitch into your chain 2.
     
  12.  Fasten off and weave in ends.

Extra Large Flower

  1. Round 1 Start by making a Slip Knot with your 7.00 Crochet Hook, then Chain 4. Slip Stitch into the first chain you made (this creates a circle), then chain up 2. *Crochet 1 Double Crochet into the circle, chain 1. Repeat from the * 5 times. Slip stitch into the top of chain 2.
     
  2. Round 2 Chain up 2, then double crochet into the same stitch. Crochet 2 double crochets into every stitch and chain all the way around. Join together with a slip stitch into the top of chain 2.
     
  3. Round 3 Chain up 2, then double crochet into the same stitch. Crochet 1 double crochet into the next stitch. *Crochet 2 double crochets into the next stitch. Then crochet 1 double crochet into the next 2 stitches. Repeat from the * all around. Join together with a slip stitch into the top of chain 2.
     
  4. Round 4 Chain up 1. *Single Crochet into the next stitch. Double crochet into the same stitch. In the next stitch crochet 2 double crochets. Crochet 3 Triple/Treble Crochets in the next stitch. Then crochet 2 double crochets into the next stitch. Crochet 1 double crochet in the next stitch, and crochet a single crochet into the same stitch. Repeat from the * all around. Join together with a slip stitch into the top of chain 2.
     
  5.  Fasten off, and weave in ends.

 

Large Flower

  1. Round 1 Start by making a Slip Knot with your 4.50 Crochet Hook, then Chain 4. Slip Stitch into the first chain you made (this creates a circle), then chain up 2. *Crochet 1 Double Crochet into the circle, chain 1. Repeat from the * 5 times. Slip stitch into the top of chain 2.
     
  2. Round 2 Chain up 2, then double crochet into the same stitch. Crochet 2 double crochets into every stitch and chain all the way around. Join together with a slip stitch into the top of chain 2.
     
  3. Round 3 Chain up 2, then double crochet into the same stitch. Crochet 1 double crochet into the next stitch. *Crochet 2 double crochets into the next stitch. Then crochet 1 double crochet into the next 2 stitches. Repeat from the * all around. Join together with a slip stitch into the top of chain 2.
     
  4. Round 4 Chain up 1. *Single Crochet into the next stitch. Double crochet into the same stitch. In the next stitch crochet 2 double crochets. Crochet 3 Triple/Treble Crochets in the next stitch. Then crochet 2 double crochets into the next stitch. Crochet 1 double crochet in the next stitch, and crochet a single crochet into the same stitch. Repeat from the * all around. Join together with a slip stitch into the top of chain 2.
     
  5.  Fasten off, and weave in ends.

 

Medium Flower

  1. Round 1 Start by making a Slip Knot with your 4.50 Crochet Hook, then Chain 4. Slip Stitch into the first chain you made (this creates a circle), then chain up 2. *Crochet 1 Double Crochet into the circle, chain 1. Repeat from the * 5 times. Slip stitch into the top of chain 2.
     
  2. Round 2 Chain up 2, then double crochet into the same stitch. Crochet 2 double crochets into every stitch and chain all the way around. Join together with a slip stitch into the top of chain 2.
     
  3. Round 3 Chain up 1.  *Single Crochet into the next stitch. Double crochet into the same stitch. Crochet 1 Double Crochet into the next stitch, then crochet a Triple/Treble Crochet into the same stitch, then crochet a double crochet. Crochet 1 double crochet in the next stitch, and crochet a single crochet into the same stitch. Repeat from the * all around. Join together with a slip stitch into the top of chain 1.
     
  4.  Fasten off, and weave in ends.

 

Small Flower

  1. Round 1 Start by making a Slip Knot with your 4.50 Crochet Hook, then Chain 4. Slip Stitch into the first chain you made (this creates a circle), then chain up 2. Crochet 14 Double Crochets into the circle. Join together with a slip stitch into the top of chain 2.
     
  2. Round 2 Chain up 2. *Crochet 1 double crochet into the same stitch. Crochet 3 double crochets into the next stitch. Then crochet 1 double crochet in the next stitch. Chain 2 and Slip Stitch into that same stitch. Then slip stitch into the next stitch and chain up 2. Repeat from the * all around.
     
  3.  Fasten off and weave in ends.
     
  4. After you've weaved in all the ends, all you do is take your wool/tapestry needle and sew the four layers of the flower together, and you're done!
