Swirling Fingertip Clay Bowls
Fingertip Bowl Instructions
-
Roll your clay into a long thin rope.
-
Make 7 swirls out of the clay that you just rolled. Make sure they are all the same size.
Tip:Â To make sure they are the same size stack your new swirl on top of your original to use that as your guide on where to cut your clay. -
Using your baking bowl, flip the bowl over so that it is dome shaped and place your first swirl in the middle.Â
-
Press each swirl around the edges of the swirl you put in the middle of the bowl. If there are some slight gaps that is okay.
-
Press and smash down the swirls so that all the gaps are filled in.Â
-
Create a decorative edge of your choosing, or leave it as it is.Â
-
Cut a little extra rope off th end and form an open circle with it to act as a foot for your bowl.Â
-
Place your bowl, while still pressed onto your baking bowl, in the oven at 275 degrees for approximately 30 minutes.Â

I'm getting ready to move into my first apartment and buying cute home decor can be really pricey, but I think these bowls make really cute candy dishes or potpourri!

Could you make these larger? Adding more boarder, or another row of the swirls? Or would you just use larger swirls? Not an experienced clay crafter but seriously considering trying it out after seeing some of these great videos. These bowls are adorable, and look very easy to make. I might make some as gifts filled with wrapped candies.

#NationalCraftMonth2017 What a terrific project! I didn't know baked Premo clay would withstand the drips from bar soap.
