Tissue Wine Bottle Vases

Materials:

  • Recycled wine and liquor bottles, spray painted with a primer, and then white
  • Printed/stamped tissue paper
  • Mod podge or a mixture of white glue and water
  • A brush to apply the mod podge

Instructions:

  1. You can choose to cover the entire bottle with tissue paper, as we did with the polka dotted versions, or cut pieces of tissue paper and decoupage that as I did with the large circles. Either way, brush some mod podge or glue onto your bottle and carefully place the tissue paper on top, gently smoothing with the brush. It you want a very smooth surface I would recommend working with fairly small pieces, as tissue paper is difficult to work with because it's so thin.

  2. Set aside to dry and apply an additional coat of modpodge as a protective layer.

  3. And by the way, if you don't feel like going through the trouble of painting the bottles, you can of course decoupage the tissue paper onto clear bottles.

Do you think that you could use paper serevets there are some very pretty ones around [sorry about the spelling] but you know what I mean

Cool Idea! Im looking for semi-cheap Christmas gifts and this way I could personalize them.

love it i paint mine but this so much easier!

EVEN EASIER... Take pretty colors tissue paper, tear into irregular pieces, dip into milk and overlap on bottle, bowl, glass.. etc.. and let dry. Paper adheres to glass quite nicely. Want to change colors?? Place in warm water (covering item) and let soak. Paper comes off easily and you can re-do the design!

is it just me or did we not do this when we were well, in our "way younger years" ???, in other words "borrrring" ...NEXT...

i dont remember using alcohol bottles in class....hmm a bit rude! someone worked hard on this its actually a fun cute idea! Geez very childish acting like you are in you "way younger years" SMH!
