Art is a beautiful opportunity to immerse yourself in a private world of creativity. Let the noise of day-to-day life quietly fade into the background as you peacefully make a new project. Advanced artists and novices alike know the joy of creating a piece no one else could have made, because art is an expression of the self.

These new and seasoned artists may eventually find themselves in a creative rut. This block may stem from using the same genre of supplies without straying from what the artist knows, and it can be intimidating to try a foreign product.

Enter SketchBox. SketchBox is a subscription service that delivers a selection of premium art supplies to subscribers each month. Typically organized around a specific theme, each SketchBox is designed to "fuel the fire" of artists by providing unique and high quality supplies for artistic play.

The May Premium Box focuses on liquid acrylic. A helpful note is included with each box explaining the theme and detailing which supplies are included. For example, did you know that Daler Rowney's FW Pearlescent Liquid Acrylics are water soluble when wet but dry to a water-resistant, translucent, shimmering film? And have you ever tried using a Derwent Graphik Line Painter? These pens include an opaque paint that becomes permanent when dry.

Another included card gives a bio on the featured artist for that month. Social media information is included, and the back of the card features a piece of art created by the artist to inspire you further still!

SketchBox offers Basic and Premium options for their boxes, and you can commit to just one month at first or order up to one year's worth of art supplies at a bulk discount. This is a fantastic gift idea to both sustain and inspire fresh creativity twelve times a year! I think this would be a marvelous idea for young artists. I'd love to subscribe my children to SketchBox one day and see the delight when they receive their art supplies in the mail each month!

Ignite that creativity again and again when you receive a variety of stunning, high quality art supplies each month from SketchBox.

What art supplies do you enjoy using? What type of art have you always wanted to try, but haven't yet?

I have worked with various art supplies. Right now I am heavy into Stamping and cards and would love to try Pearlescent Liquid Acrylics and see how the two would blend and make some beautiful one of a kind cards to give as gifts. I have always enjoyed discovering the creative side of me.
