Embellished Party Lanterns

Are you a beginner to decoupage? Why not spice up your party with these pretty paper lanterns. Experiment with different colored lanterns and images to get interesting combinations.
 

Materials:

• 2 paper lanterns – we used one white and one blue
• Mod Podge Satin
• Napkins with a cuttable image, 4
   

Instructions:

1. Separate the bottom and top layers of your napkins. Keep the part of the napkins with the image, and discard the extra parts of the napkins.
2. Cut out the images from your napkins that you would like to adhere to the lanterns.
3. Carefully Mod Podge down the images cut from your napkins to your lanterns. Apply a coat of Mod Podge to the lantern, place the image down and then Mod Podge over the top. Brush lightly or you risk tearing the image. Repeat until all images are down and then allow to dry for 15 – 20 minutes.
4. Completely coat both lanterns with a layer of Mod Podge to seal. Allow 24 hours to dry before hanging and inserting lightbulbs.
