19 sts and 25 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] in stocking st.

With pair of needles and MC, cast on 51 (55) sts.
1st row: (RS). *K2. P2. Rep from * to last 3 sts. K2. P1.
Rep last row of Seed St Ribbing until work from beg measures 6 (7) ins [15 (18) cm], ending with a WS row.
Next row: (RS). Cast on 24 (28) sts. *K2. P2. Rep from * to last 3 sts. K2. P1. 75 (83) sts. Place marker at end of row.
Rep last row of Seed St Ribbing until work from marked row measures 3¾ (4½) ins [9.5 (11.5) cm], ending with a WS row.
Shape top: 1st row: K2. P2. K1. *P3tog. (K2. P2) 3 times. K1. Rep from * 3 times more. P3tog. (K2. P2) 0 (2) times more. K2. P1. 65 (73) sts.
2nd row: (K2. P2) 0 (2) times. K2. *P1. K1. (P2. K2) 3 times. Rep from * 3 times more. P1. K1. P2. K2. P1.
3rd row: *K2. P2. K1. P1. K2. P2. K1. P3tog. Rep from * 3 (4) times more. (K2. P2. K1. P1) 1 (0) time. K2. P1. 57 (63) sts.

6th row: K2. (P1. K1) 3 (1) time(s). P2. K2. *(P1. K1) 3 times. P2. K2. Rep from * to last 5 sts. (P1. K1) twice. P1.
7th row: (K1. P1) twice. *K1. P3tog. (K1. P1) 3 times. Rep from * 3 times more. K0 (1). (P3tog) 0 (1) time. (K1. P1) 0 (2) times. P1. K2tog. 39 (43) sts.
8th row: P1. *K1. P1. Rep from * to end of row.
9th row: *Sl1. K1. psso. Rep from * to last st. K1. 20 (23) sts.
Break yarn leaving a long end. Draw end through rem sts and fasten securely. Sew side seam.

BUNNY VERSION
Ears (make 2).
With pair of needles and A, cast on 19 sts.
1st row: K1. *Slip next st purlwise with yarn at front of work - Sl1Pwyf. K1. Rep from * to end of row.
2nd row: Sl1Pwyf. *K1. Sl1Pwyf. Rep from * to end of row.
Rep last 2 rows until work from beg measures 4 ins [10 cm], ending with a 2nd row.
Next row: Sl1. K2tog. psso. Pat to last 3 sts. Sl1. K2tog. psso.
Work 3 rows even.
Rep last 4 rows twice more. 7 sts.
Next row: K3togtbl. K1. K3tog.
Next row: Sl1. K2tog. psso. Fasten off.
Fold pipe cleaner in half and insert into Ear. Fold cast on edge in half and sew tog. Sew Ears in position.

ALIEN VERSION
Antennae (make 2).
With two double-pointed needles and A, cast on 4 sts.
1st row: *K4. Do not turn. Slide sts to opposite end of needle. Rep from * until work from beg measures 8 ins [20.5 cm]. Insert pipe cleaner into I-cord. Break yarn. Thread yarn through all sts. Pull tightly. Fasten securely.
Pom-pom: (make 4). Wind A around 3 fingers approx 60 times. Remove from fingers and tie tightly in center. Cut through each side of loops. Trim to a smooth round shape. Attach pom-pom to each end of antennae. Fold antennae as shown in picture.
Sew antennae in position.

CAT VERSION
Ears (make 2).
With pair of needles and A, cast on 23 sts.
1st row: K1. *Slip next st purlwise with yarn at front of work - Sl1Pwyf. K1. Rep from * to end of row.
2nd row: Sl1Pwyf. *K1. Sl1Pwyf. Rep from * to end of row.
Rep last 2 rows once more.
Next row: Sl1. K2tog. psso. Pat to last 3 sts. Sl1. K2tog. psso.
Work 3 rows even.
Rep last 4 rows 3 times more. 7 sts.
Next row: K3togtbl. K1. K3tog.
Next row: Sl1. K2tog. psso. Fasten off.
Sew Cat Ears in position.

DINOSAUR VERSION
Spike Strip (make 2): With A, cast on 3 sts.
**1st row: (WS). With A, K1. yfwd. K2. 4 sts.
2nd and alt rows: Knit.
3rd row: K1. yfwd. K3. 5 sts.
5th row: K1. yfwd. K4. 6 sts.
7th row: K1. yfwd. K5. 7 sts.
9th row: K1. yfwd. K6. 8 sts.
11th row: K1. yfwd. K7. 9 sts.
13th row: K1. yfwd. K8. 10 sts.
15th row: K1. yfwd. K9. 11 sts.
17th row: K1. yfwd. K10. 12 sts.
19th row: K1. yfwd. K11. 13 sts.
21st row: K1. yfwd. K12. 14 sts.
22nd row: Cast off 11 sts. K3 (including st left on needle after cast off ). 3 sts.
With B, rep last 22 rows once.**
Rep from ** to ** until Spike Strip measures to fit length from front edge to bottom of back Hat-Main Section.
Sew Spikes along Hat-Main Section from front edge to bottom of back Hat-Main Section.

I cannot figure out the main hat-section shape top -1st row -help- it dos not address all 75 stitchs.
