Sizes 4.5 mm (U.S. 7) and 5 mm (U.S. 8) knitting needles or size needed to obtain gauge. 4 stitch holders.

TENSION
18 sts and 24 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] with larger needles in stocking stitch.

INSTRUCTIONS
The instructions are written for smallest size. If changes are necessary for larger sizes the instructions will be written thus ( ).

BACK
**With larger needles, cast on 98 (104-112- 120-138-156) sts.
Work 3 ins [7.5 cm] in garter st (knit every row), noting first row is WS and inc 4 (4-4-6- 6-6) sts evenly across last WS row. 102 (108- 116-126-144-162) sts.
Proceed in stocking st for 8 rows.
Shape sides: Next row: (RS). K2. K2tog. Knit to last 4 sts. ssk. K2.
Work 13 (13-13-11-11-11) rows even.**

Change to larger needles and work 4 rows in stocking st.
Shape raglans: Cast off 2 (2-3-3-4-4) sts beg next 2 rows. 70 (72-70-74-76-76) sts rem.

Sizes XS/S, M and L only: 1st row: (RS). K2. K2tog. Knit to last 4 sts. ssk. K2.
2nd row: P2. P2togtbl. Purl to last 4 sts. P2tog. P2.
3rd row: As 1st row.
4th row: Purl.

FINISHING
Pin garment pieces to measurements and cover with a damp cloth leaving cloth to dry.
Sew raglan seams leaving left back raglan seam open.
Neckband: With RS facing and smaller needles, K12 (14-14-16-16-16) from left sleeve st holder dec 1 st at center, pick up and knit 21 sts down left front neck edge, K18 (18-18-18-20-20) from front st holder, dec 2 sts evenly across, pick up and knit 21 sts up right front neck edge, K12 (14-14-16-16-16) from right sleeve st holder dec 1 st at center and K36 (36-38-38-40-40) from back st holder dec 3 sts evenly across. 113 (117-119- 123-127-127) sts.
Work 1½ ins [4 cm] in garter st ending with a RS row. Cast off knitwise (WS).
Sew left back raglan and neckband seam.
Pocket edging: With RS facing and smaller needles, pick up and knit 27 sts along side of pocket opening. Work 1½ ins [4 cm] in garter st, ending with a RS row. Cast off knitwise (WS).
Rep on opposite side of pocket. Sew sides of pocket edging in position on RS. Sew pocket lining in position on WS.
Sew side and sleeve seams.

SCARF
With larger needles cast on 42 sts loosely.
Work 4 yards (3.5 m) in stocking st (or desired length), ending with a purl row. Cast off loosely. Edges of Scarf will curl towards center.
