Gentle Blaze Necklace

Use a burgundy, gold or silver color scheme to create a timeless piece of jewelry from Katie Hacker. The necklace uses a pendant for the center and a variety of beads.

Materials:

  • Beadalon 19 Strand Flexible wire: two 20" lengths of .015" diameter 24K gold-plated
  • Two 1.5mm Gold Crimp Tubes
  • Large gold Toggle Clasp
  • 45mm burgundy/gold/silver pendant
  • Four 8mm fire polish clear glass beads
  • 22 size 6/0 burgundy Toho seed beads
  • 34 size 11/0 gold Toho seed beads
  • 128 garnet chips
  • Six 6mm gold/crystal rondelles
  • Crimp Tool
  • Wire Cutters

Steps:

  1. Hold the wires together and string a crimp tube. String half of the clasp onto the wire, then place the wire ends back inside the crimp tube to form a small loop. Use a crimping tool to crimp it. Hold the wires together and string five alternating 6/0 and 11/0 beads.

  2. String four garnet chips onto each wire. Hold the wires together and string an 11/0, a 6/0 and an 11/0 bead. Repeat this step four times, then string four more garnet chips onto each strand. Hold the wires together and string a rondelle, a clear bead and another rondelle.

  3. String four garnet chips onto each strand. Hold the wires together and string an 11/0, a 6/0 and an 11/0 bead. Repeat this step once more, then string four garnet chips onto each strand.

  4. Hold the wires together and string a rondelle and clear bead. String the pendant onto the center of the necklace.

  5. Repeat the all of the steps in the reverse order so the necklace is symmetrical. Adjust the spacing of the beaded sections so the pendant is in the center before attaching the clasp. After attaching the clasp, cut off any extra wire.
