Boo! He Glows

This ghost is a special kind of ghost decoration. He glows! This Halloween spook your friends out by making a ghost out of acrylics and glow paint.

Materials:

  • Americana Acrylics
    • DA235 - Citron Green
    • DA227 - Bright Yellow
    • DA228 - Bright Orange
    • DA236 - Grape Juice
  • Americana Glow-in-the-Dark Paint
    • DS50 - Glow-in-the-Dark Medium
  • Americana Spray Paints
    • DAO1 - Snow White Spray Paint
  • Americana DuraClear Varnishes
    • DS19 - DuraClear Gloss Varnish
  • 1" flat, #8 flat, #2 liner
  • Palette
  • Brush basin
  • Paper towels
  • Ghost and pumpkin yard stake by MB Glick

 

Steps:
 

Preparation
Remove any dirt or debris from surface.

 

  1. Spray the entire surface with Snow White. Let dry.
     
  2. Paint the pumpkin Bright Orange.
     
  3. Paint the ghost's eyes and outline the features as desired with Lamp Black and liner.
     
  4. Paint the pumpkin eyes with Bright Yellow using the #8 flat brush.
     
  5. Use the handle end of the brush to add Citron Green dip dots on both the pumpkin and the ghost.
     
  6. Shade around the features of the ghost with a float* of Grape Juice, using the #8 flat brush.
     
  7. Add a little blush to the nose and cheeks with a float of Bright Orange.
     
  8. Apply Glo-in-the-Dark Medium on top of the painted surface with the 1" flat brush.
     
  9. When dry, apply two coats of DuraClear Gloss, allowing to dry between coats.
     

* Float: Load brush in water or floating medium. Pat excess on paper towel. Dip one corner of brush in color. Blend color through brush on palette. Color should go from heavy on the loaded side to nothing on the opposite corner, graduating through bristles.
