Seussian Flower Bouquet
 

Materials:

Instructions:

Bias Tape Flowers

  1. Create continuous loops of bias tape that meet in center. Trim excess bias tape.
     
  2. Using needle and thread, stitch loops to center of flower.
     
  3. Stitch sequins and bead on center of flower.
     
  4. Add wire to back for to create stem and cover with floral tape.


Duck Tape Dandelion

  1. Cut a piece of Duck Tape about 18" long. Fold nearly in half, leaving part of adhesive exposed.
     
  2. Cut folded portion of Duck Tape to create fringe.
     
  3. Roll Duck Tape around tip of the wire, using all 18."
     
  4. Gently open petals of flower. 
     

Glitter Flowers

  1. Outline edges of floral embellishments with glue. Sprinkle with glitter and let dry.
     
  2. Thread wire through the backs of two floral embellishments.
     
  3. Bend and twist wire to secure. 
     

Large Sequin Flowers

  1. Use embossing folders to add texture to sequin sheets.
     
  2. Draw flower shapes on sequin sheets. Cut out flowers.
     
  3. Stack two flower shapes and poke holes through each with thumbtacks.
     
  4. Thread wire through holes. String bead on wire. Twist wire to secure.
     
  5. Repeat process using leaf shapes.
     
  6. Cover stems with floral tape.


Die Cut Flower

  1. Using large frame die, cut 6 pieces of scrapbook paper (3 from each color).
     
  2. Cut wedge out of short side of each die cut. Secure with washi tape to create cup-like petal.
     
  3. Use a thumbtack to create a hole for the wire.
     
  4. Twist one end of the wire into tight spiral.
     
  5. Thread on 6 petals, first the 3 of one color, then the 3 of the other. Push to end of the spiral.
     
  6. Secure with washi tape.


Pom Pom Flower

  1. Wrap yarn around pom pom maker 50-75 times.
     
  2. Tie in middle with piece of yarn.
     
  3. Use wire to secure middle of the pom pom before removing it from machine. Secure wire.
     
  4. Remove yarn from pom-pom maker. Cut loops. 
     
  5. Trim edges to even out pom pom.


Mod Podge Flower

  1. Decoupage Podgeable Papers to 6 Podgeable Shapes (1 circle, 5 ovals, and 1 oval with tab). Let dry.
     
  2. Attach floral wire to Podgeable Shape with tab.
     
  3. Glue flower together with 5 ovals as petals and circle as center.


Tassel Flower

  1. Secure fabric to Phoomph and cut out floral shape.
     
  2. Cut an X in center of flower.
     
  3. Attach floral wire to the loop at back of tassel.
     
  4. Insert tassel into center of flower. Fan fringe of tassel.
     
  5. Cover wire with floral tape.


Dyed Floral Stems

  1. Soak wooden hearts in 1 cup of hot water and 2 tablespoons of dye. After 2 hours, remove from water and let dry.
     
  2. Drill holes in top of each heart.
     
  3. Thread hearts onto fine gauge wire.
     
  4. Wrap fine gauge wire around around heavy gauge wire stem.


Clay Flowers

  1. Knead clay. Use green clay for leaves, poking a hole through the center of each with a pencil.
     
  2. Surround pink clay with white on 3 sides. Roll into tube.
     
  3. Cut tube into segments and shape into petals.
     
  4. Connect petals into flower shape.
     
  5. Poke holes in base of flower for wire.
     
  6. Bake in oven according to package instructions. Allow to cool. 
     
  7. Secure wire at base of flower. Thread leaves through holes and secure. 


Sequin Baby's Breath

  1. Cut a length of floral wire about 2 yards long. Fold in half.
     
  2. Thread on sequin and twist.
     
  3. Repeat process, creating branches that extend in all directions.
     
  4. Twist stem and trim excess.
     
  5. If needed, twist stem around heavier-gauge floral wire.


Tie Dye Leaves

  1. Sprinkle blue and yellow tie dye powder onto wooden leaves. Spray with water.
     
  2. Allow wood to absorb powder, then flip leaves and repeat. Let dry.
     
  3. Secure ends of leaves with FrogTape to keep wood from splitting when drilling.
     
  4. Drill hole into one end of each of the leaves through FrogTape.
     
  5. Remove tape and thread onto wire. Twist wire to secure leaves.


Bouquet Filler

  1. Split plastic grass into smaller sections.
     
  2. Fan out grass and add dew-drops along the blades of grass using Beads in a Bottle. Let dry.
     

Zipper Butterfly

  1. Unzip zipper and soak in 1 cup of hot water and 2 tablespoons of dye. After 30 minutes, remove zipper, drain, and let dry.
     
  2. Unzip zipper, bend each side down to create butterfly wings. Cut at fold to make wings bend.
     
  3. Secure with needle and thread.
     
  4. Glue floral wire to back of butterfly using Krazy glue.
