The Best Crochet Ear Warmer

You'll never need to hunt around searching for the perfect winter accessory again. This ear warmer will keep your ears warm and have everyone captivated by cuteness. Materials:

  • 10.00mm Crochet Hook
  • 100g Super Bulky Yarn {14ply}
  • 2x Buttons {3cm x 3cm}
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry/Wool Needle

Size:

  • This earwarmer fits all sizes

Instructions
Chains at the start of a row count as the first Half Double Crochet of that row

Earwarmer

  1. Taking your super bulky yarn and 10.00mm crochet hook, start of by making a Slip Knot, and then crocheting 4 Chains.
     
  2. Row 1 Chain 4. Crochet 1 Half Double Crochet into the last chain from your hook.
     
  3. Row 2 Chain 2. Crochet 1 Half Double Crochet into the next 3 stitches. {Note: You've just created the button hole.}
     
  4. Row 3 - 4 Chain 2. Crochet 1 Half Double Crochet into every stitch all across.
     
  5. Row 5 Chain 2, then crochet a Half Double Crochet into the same stitch. Crochet 1 Half Double Crochet into the next 2 stitches. Then crochet 2 Half Double Crochets into the last stitch. You should have 6 half double crochets now.


     
  6. Row 6 Chain 2. Crochet 1 Half Double Crochet into every stitch all across.
     
  7. Row 7 Chain 2, then crochet a Half Double Crochet into the same stitch. Crochet 1 Half Double Crochet into the next 4 stitches. Then crochet 2 Half Double Crochets into the last stitch. You should have 8 half double crochets now.
     
  8. Row 8 - 27 Chain 2. Crochet 1 Half Double Crochet into every stitch all across. {Note: You can either add or take away a few extra rows depending on your head size.}
     
  9. Row 28 Chain 2. Crochet 1 Half Double Crochet Decrease. Then crochet 1 Half Double Crochet into the next 3 stitches. Then crochet 1 Half Double Crochet Decrease. You should have 6 half double crochets now.
     
  10. Row 29 Chain 2. Crochet 1 Half Double Crochet into every stitch all across.
     
  11. Row 30 Chain 2. Crochet 1 Half Double Crochet Decrease. Then crochet 1 Half Double Crochet into the next stitch. Then crochet 1 Half Double Crochet Decrease. You should have 4 half double crochets now.
     
  12. Row 31 - 34 Chain 2. Crochet 1 Half Double Crochet into every stitch all across.


     
  13. Once you've completed all the rows, Chain 1. Then Single Crochet all around your ear warmer.
     
  14. When you reach the corners, Single Crochet, Chain 1, then Single Crochet into the same stitch.
     
  15. Now, taking your tapestry needle, sew a button onto one side of your ear warmer, making sure that you position the button where it will fit through the button hole.
     
  16.  Fasten off, and weave in loose ends.

 

Flower

  1. Round 1 Taking your 10.00mm crochet hook and super bulky yarn, start of by making a Slip Knot, then crochet 3 Chains. Crochet 11 Half Double Crochets into the first chain you made. Slip Stitch into the top of chain 3. You should have 12 half double crochets now.
     
  2. Round 2 Chain 3, skip 1 stitch, then crochet a Single Crochet into the following stitch.  *Chain 2, skip 1 stitch, then crochet a Single Crochet into the following stitch. Repeat from the * mark all around. Slip Stitch into the bottom chain of chain 3.
     
  3. Round 3 *Chain 1 then crochet 1 Single Crochet into the first chain loop you made in the previous round. Then crochet 1 Half Double Crochet into the same loop. Chain 1, then crochet 1 Double Crochet into the chain loop. Chain 1, then crochet 1 Half Double Crochet and 1 Single Crochet into the chain loop. Then crochet a Slip Stitch into the next chain loop. Repeat from the * mark all around. Slip Stitch into the top of chain 1. {Note: You should have 6 flower petals now.}
     
  4. Taking your tapestry needle, sew the wooden button right in the middle on your flower. Then sew the flower onto your earwarmer .
     
  5. Fasten off, and weave in loose ends.
