Textured and Tonal Throw

Materials:

  • Red Heart® “Light & Lofty®” (Art. E708) solid color 6 oz (170 g), 140 yd (128 m) and multi color and stripes 4.5 oz (127 g), 105 yd (96 m) skeins: 6 skeins of 9334 Café au lait A; 2 skeins each of 9617 Pheasant Multi B, and 9365 Rocky Mountain C
  • Crochet Hook: 10mm [US N-15]
  • Yarn needle

Gauge: First 2 rounds of throw = 5” x 5”. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.

INSTRUCTIONS
With A, ch 4; join with slip st in first ch to form ring.
Round 1: Ch 2 (counts as dc here and throughout), 2 dc in ring, [ch 2, 3 dc in ring] 3 times, ch 1, hdc in top of beginning ch-2.
Round 2: Ch 2, dc in space made by hdc, *dc in each of next 3 dc, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next ch-2 space; repeat from *twice, dc in each of next 3 dc, dc in next ch-1 space, ch 1, hdc in top of beginning ch-2.
Round 3: Join B with slip st in last ch-space made, ch 2, dc in space make by hdc, *dc in each dc across to next corner ch-2 space, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next ch-2 space; rep from * twice, dc in each dc across to next corner ch-2 space, 2 dc in next ch-1 space, ch 1, hdc in top of beginning ch-2. Fasten off B.
Rounds 4-26: Repeat Round 3, working in the following color sequence: 2 rounds A, 1 round C; 3 rounds A; 1 round B; 2 rounds A; 1 round C; 4 rounds A; 1 round B; 3 rounds A; 1 round each of C, A, B; 2 rounds A.
Round 27: With A, ch 1, working from left to right, reverse sc in each st around, working 2 reverse sc in each corner ch-2 space, join with slip st in first reverse sc.
Fasten off. Weave in ends.
