Tacie HuskampTracie Lyn Huskamp holds a B.F.A in Graphic Design and Fine Art from Wichita State University and a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Missouri-Columbia.  For over seven years, she worked as a Product Designer/Illustrator creating mass market products.  A number of her designs sold in retail stores such as Wal-Mart, Hobby Lobby, Lowe's Hardware, and Walgreen Drugs, as well as being featured on the television show, Extreme Home Makeover. 

 

In 2007, she left her corporate position to focus full-time on her own art. It is Tracie's passion for mixed media, painting, and nature that fuels the fires of her creative spirit and continues to lead her on a wondrous journey. She shares her love of art and nature by teaching workshops at some of the most prestigious national and international retreats/conferences and with the release of her new book, Nature Inspired (Quarry 2009).

 

Tracie's mixed media work has received national recognition. She has appeared on ABCNews.com in an Associated Press Interview, on the cover of Somerset Studio Magazine, along with feature articles in Cloth,Paper,Scissors Magazine, Stampington's Artful Blogger Magazine, Somerset Art Quilting Studio, and Quilting Arts Gifts Special Publications. She has contributed to a number of artist's books, such as 1000 Artist Journal Pages by Dawn Sokol, True Vision by L.K. Ludwig, The Creative Entrepreneur by Lisa Sonora Beam, Creative Wildfire by L.K. Ludwig, 1000 Artisan Textiles by Sandra Salamony, and Drawing Lab by Carla Sonheim.

 

She eagerly awaits the debut of her new cotton quilting fabric line with Windham Fabrics/Baum Textiles due to hit retail stores in late 2010 and soon to be announced other exciting licensing news.
