Simple Toilet Paper Roll Christmas Angel Craft

If you have a toilet paper roll and a big imagination, you can make this Simple Toilet Paper Roll Christmas Angel Craft. Materials:

  • Provided pattern sheet for wings
  • Empty toilet paper roll
  • Empty egg carton tray
  • Curly brown synthetic doll hair
  • Pair of 8mm wiggle eyes
  • Plastic bottle cap
  • Five 10mm clear self-adhesive flat-sided rhinestone stickers
  • Five 4mm clear flat-sided rhinestone stickers
  • A length of 11” of cream lace that is 3.4” wide
  • 0.2” wide silver metallic ribbon
  • Silver masking tape
  • Piece of wax paper
  • Flesh acrylic paint
  • Artline 210 Fineliner black pen
  • Pink felt-tip pen
  • Paintbrush
  • Standard scissors
  • Needle and thread
  • Elmer’s glue stick
  • Quick-drying craft glue (such as Bostik Clear)

 

Instructions:

  1. Print the wings on a sheet of ordinary white printer paper.
     
  2. From the egg tray, cut a circle that would fit on top of the toilet paper roll.
     
  3. Paint both the circle and the toilet paper roll with the flesh paint and allow to dry thoroughly.


     
  4. Glue the circle to the top of the toilet paper roll and cut off any protruding edges.
     
  5. Add the angel’s hair and glue the wiggle eyes in place. Use the scissors to shape her hair neatly.
     
  6. Use the black pen and pink felt-tip pen to add nostrils, a mouth, rosy cheeks and freckles.


     
  7. Make the angel’s dress:  
    1. Make a fold at the top of the lace 1” from the edge of the lace, and use a running stitch to keep the fold in place. This will be the collar of the dress.
       
    2. Gather the frills of the dress together and measure the dress around the toilet paper roll before ending the running stitch with a secure knot.
       
    3. Add glue around the middle of the toilet paper roll and glue the dress in place.
       
    4. Add the ribbon around the collar of the dress and cut off any extra ribbon.


       
  8. Make the angel’s crown:
    1. Cover the top and sides of the bottle cap with silver masking tape and cut off any protruding edges.
       
    2. Glue the five 10mm rhinestones evenly around the sides of the cap.
       
    3. Glue a smaller rhinestone above each big rhinestone.


       
  9. Glue the crown onto the angel’s head.


     
  10. Use the glue stick to add glue to the wings and glue the wax paper onto the wings. 11. Cut the wings out and use the craft glue to affix them to the angel’s back.
