How to Clean Metal Votive Candle Molds

This tip will explain how to clean metal votive candle molds so that you can use them again and again.  These little votive holders are great for holding small supplies and can even be used to make new candles!  Once you've cleaned out your little votive holders, the possibilities are endless as to what you can do with them.

Metal Votive Candle Holder

Preheat your oven to the lowest setting, but do not exceed 200 degrees.  Place a folded paper towel on a baking sheet and place the metal molds on the towel upside-down with the votive pins beside them. Once the oven is ready heating, place baking sheet with molds inside for about 15 minutes. Remove from the oven once the time is up -- notice the remaining wax has melted and dripped down to the paper towel. Pick up each mold and votive pin with a paper towel (be careful, as they will still be hot!) and wipe out the inside once more with a clean paper towel to remove any remaining wax. Set them aside individually to cool off before stacking them or they will stick together!

I've always cleaned all types of candles by putting them in the freezer. Even plates or any flat holders that you use to set your candles on. The wax freezes & you can pop it off really easy. It's always worked for me. Anyone else?

Another option to clean your candel metal molds or glass that held candles is to boil water in the microwave (so you do not heat up your home with the oven) and pour into the mold or glass containers. Let rest and the left over wax will rise to the top and cool off, remove, and if you still have wax, repeat process. Once the wax is gone pour some warm water to clean the remaining wax on the molds or glass.

This is great to know thanks.

This works with larger metal molds, as well.
