If you're looking for fun kids craft projects that are also environmentally friendly, you should check out Find It, Make It: Outdoor Green Crafts for Children by Clare Youngs. The book is full of kids nature crafts and other unique recycled crafts. There are green crafts for practically anything you'd ever want to make, from room decorations and toys to jewelry and gift ideas. Every project in the book has been specifically designed with the environment in mind, and it is so fun to see the creative ways that you can incorporate recycled materials into your favorite craft projects. I also love how the book uses natural materials in a lot of its crafts. That way you don't have to spend a lot of money at the store buying art supplies... everything you need is right in your backyard!

The book also has a helpful section in the front with suggestions of household items that you should start collecting to use in your future eco-friendly craft projects. It also describes the best places to look for natural crafting materials (the woods, your home garden, the beach, etc.). There are so many great ideas for green crafting that I never would have even thought about, if not of this book. Best of all, at the back of the book there are a bunch of handy templates to help you with your projects.

One of my favorite crafts in the book is the Froggy bookends project because it’s adorable yet oh-so-simple to make. All you have to do is collect pebbles from around your house, paint them and glue them together. Before you know it you’ll have smiley frog bookends that will look cute in any kid’s room!

The book also has some clever ideas for jewelry made using natural materials. I really love the felt and shell bracelets because I can never find whole seashells on the beach. This project takes those random shell fragments and transforms them into something beautiful. The craft itself is a beginner sewing project so it’s perfect for kids!

If you want ideas for easy kids craft projects that also teach about the importance of the environment, this book is a great resource. You’ll be amazed by how many creative ways the author has found to use natural and recycled materials in kid-friendly craft projects.
