I really didn't like the colors on this one, so I made mine a "Christmas" green, and then put glue-on "jewels" all over it. I had painted one of the saucers white, added some glitter paint, and turned it upside-down to use as a "tree stand". Everybody LOVED it.........

The pots tree example is beautiful..........I was looking for something more "Christmasy".......so I really liked your idea about painting the tree green and adding pom poms for ornaments. The grandchildren will really love making this!

This is a great idea and would work for outside too.

I make these for outside in my flower garden, just glue a clay saucer to the top instead of the star, fill with birdseed and the little birds love it!I also make butterfly feeders with these. All you do differently is fill the clay saucer with SAND(NOT COLORED SAND)just plain sandbox sand, keep damp and the butterflies drink water from the sand.

Love making items from clay pots. You can paint tree green, add colored pom poms, or mini jewels. This stacked pot pattern also makes a great lighthouse, using red and white paint, and a mini wooden house.
