DIY Nightstand from an Old Wine Crate
DIY Nightstand from an Old Wine Crate

"I revamped an old wine crate into a DIY nightstand for my sons bedroom. When my son was moaning that he didn’t have anywhere to put a glass of water at night I decided to DIY a nightstand using one an old wine crate/box. The nightstand looks awesome in my sons room and he loves it. Now he’s got somewhere to put that glass of water, and a place to rest his phone as it charges overnight. Also there is room enough for the books he’s currently reading & his tablet !"

Materials List

  • Wine crate / box, these are easy to get from your local wine store, they are the one that usually hold half a dozen bottles.
  • Hairpin legs 16"
  • Antiquing wax
  • Wrapping paper to decoupage inside.
  • Wood screws, screwdriver and saw.
  • mod podge

NotesThe nightstand does look great in my sons room especially as the decoupage inside matches his bedding. It has also proved to be useful with the extra storage shelves.

Gorgeous! Love the finish too. The table looks incredibly durable. Would enjoy reading more about how you installed it. On another note, If your looking for wine crates for a future project visit www.winecratesandboxes.com

That's such a thrifty idea! I love the decoupage at the bottom of the crate. It subtly matches the room decor without being overwhelming. It would be cool to add hinges to the lid somehow so you could close it to hide clutter. My nightstand definitely gets pretty messy! :)
