Stunning DIY Crochet Necklace

Materials:

  • Crochet pieces that will look good as a necklace focal point.
  • Stiffy fabric stiffner
  • E-6000 glue
  • Embellisments of your choice
  • Necklace chain
  • Jump rings to attach chain

Instructions:

  1. Gather your crochet pieces, round ones can be cut in half, if need be. You can always dye the crochet items with Rit or coffee dye them if you don't like the existing color.

  2. For stiffener, I use Stiffy, available at craft stores, and follow the directions on the bottle.  It's quite easy to use.  You place the crochet item on wax paper, dab the liquid stiffener on it with a foam brush until it's soaked all the way through, then lay it on a fresh piece of wax paper to dry.

  3. Once dry, your crochet piece can be cut to shape it further if you want, and pierced to add jump rings to add the chain necessary for the necklace.  Further embellishments can be added with E-6000 glue.

I thought this was a crochet craft but it is not. Although, the necklaces are beautiful! I am wondering where I could get these various lacy embellishments? Right, the fabric store! The finished piece looks so vintage and delicate. It's just the right complement for a boho chic style dress or tunic top with jeans.

This is inspiring.

True, it's not crochet, but pieces of ready-made lace. However, it does give me ideas what to do with lots of lace AND old crochet pieces I have lying around. Wrong label - good idea, therefore four stars.

It's not crocheted. It's a manufactured piece of lace. I guess you could crochet a piece of lace then do this but it's a misrepresentation.

Stunning crocheted necklace. Where is the pattern to make this necklace. No sense displaying it if we don't have the pattern to make it. Please print the pattern. Would like to make for my self and others.!!!!!! P.S. How can one rate something you don't print.
