what is M1. In the pattern it says to K1, M1. What is M1?

Hi nute2869--Great question. M1 means make 1...so make a stitch. So for this step, you're going to knit one, and make one stitch. Hope that helps!--FaveCrafts Editor

Id like to make this for my two year old grand daughter, any suggestions for changes to make this smaller?

I'd like to make this for a 2 year old child any suggestions??

What a great idea -- a Santa hat a person can really wear, rather than the novelty ones that are all scratchy! I wonder if the white band could be knit with a fuzzy yarn that might look more like fur?

This looks like a great project but I am puzzled by the directions. K1, M1 -- what is M1? I am not an experienced knitter and I need some help with this one.

This is the prettiest Santa's hat I've ever seen! thank you! Carol
