Nifty Knitted Dishcloth

 

Materials:

  • Regular kitchen cotton yarn (Lily sugar ‘n cream)
  • Needle size US 7

 

Instructions:

  1. Techniques are: Binding off – casting on – knit stitch – purl stitch – weaving in yarn tails.  Length is approx. 28cm
     
  2. Cast on 45 stitches.
     
  3. Row 1:  *Purl 6, knit 3*  repeat from * to * to end of row
     
  4. Row 2: *Purl 3,  knit 6* repeat from * to * to end of row
     
  5. Repeat rows 1 + 2  two more times
     
  6. Row 7: *Knit 6, purl 3* repeat from * to * to end of row
     
  7. Row 8: *Knit 3, purl 6* repeat from * to * to end of row
     
  8. repeat row 7 + 8 one more time
     
  9. Repeat rows 1 through 10 until work measure about 11″

When work is done weave end of yarn in and with contrasting color use single crochet around your cloth and make a loop of single chain stitches in a corner of your cloth.
