Beady Tropical Fish Card

Designing an original card can be easy when you have colorful stickers to embellish, like the fun fish sticker in our design. This card can be made in minutes, decorated with tape and beads and threads. No artistic ability required; simply color in the lines of the sticker!

Materials:

  • 4" x 6" sheet of Treasure Tape
  • Diamond Beadlets®
  • Kreinik #12 Braid 002 Gold, 029 Turquoise, 005 Black (or colors to match your sticker)
  • Tropical fish sticker
  • Shallow tray or pan
  • Purple card stock cut to a small card size
  • Light orange card stock cut in an oval shape larger than your sticker
  • Dark orange card stock cut 1/4" larger than your other orange card stock round hole punch, purple satin ribbon (optional)

Steps:

  1. Cut a piece of Treasure Tape to be slightly larger than your sticker. Remove the white backing from this piece of tape, and lay the tape on top of your sticker.

  2. Cut out your sticker and adhere it to the center of your light orange cardstock. Remove the red liner from the Treasure Tape on your sticker.

  3. Begin thread embellishing by laying the #12 Braid on the image, following the colors and lines in the sticker.

  4. When thread decorating is complete, lay the image in your shallow pan and cover remaining sticky areas with Diamond Beadlets®.

  5. Using scraps of Treasure Tape or a glue stick, attach your decorated piece to the center of your dark orange card stock. Then attach this to the center front of your purple card.

  6. If desired, punch holes in your card and weave the purple ribbon through, tying ends in a bow.

Kreinik threads available through needlework stores or www.kreinik.com.
