Recycled Jeans Tin Can Planters

"I always recycle and upcycle my old jeans. I love what I consider to be the interesting parts of a pair of jeans the seams and waistbands. However, these are really difficult to sew with as they are so thick, so I have to find other uses for them. This time I combined the seams and hems of my old jeans with some tin cans to make some gorgeous planters. I really like how the different colours of denim create an ombre effect and I think they look gorgeous with succulents planted in them. These planters would make a lovely gift."

You would need a few pairs of denims to complete this project as you are only using the hems/bands. I suppose depending on the size of the can you select, a single pair could cover a single can. Or you could use the hems/bands as accents on a different background. There is more than one way to get the recycled jean planter.

So the second bedroom in our small apartment has many uses outside of being a bedroom. It serves as storage, pet escape, craft room and mainly as my home office. That being said, I want the space to be gender neutral so I have a blue jean duvet on the bed and a couple of jean covered throw pillows I made. Now, this would be perfect to display on the desk that sets in the same room. Thanks for the inspiration.

Whoa! That's crazy. Such a creative way to upcycle old jeans. Plants in pants.
