We asked our Facebook fans, "How do you reuse aluminum cans?"  Pop cans, bean cans, and other aluminum containers are great storage devices, but they can also be put to use in several other ways.  Here are some great ideas from our crafty fans!

  1. Snip and cut cans to make aluminium butterflies and flowers using a die cut machine.
  2. Attach various aluminium can shapes to dowels and use as outdoor planters.
  3. If you have a die cut machine, or an easy way to cut aluminium, you can make butterflies, birds, flowers and more and turn them into a beautiful windchime.
  4. Fill them with rocks and shake them to scare off unwanted animals.
  5. Make 3-D Stars for the holidays or anytime!
  6. Craft pop cans into a biplane.
  7. Use them as a base for making bracelets.
  8. Poke holes in them to form words, like JOY or PEACE.  Put a candle inside and create a beautiful luminary.
  9. Decorate them and use them as pencil holders, utensil holders, and paint brush holders.
  10. Squish them and decorate as you see fit!  It's a great way to teach kids to look at something differently.
  11. Turn them into necklace pendants or earrings.
  12. Make soda can coasters by cutting out a square from the can and gluing it to fabric scraps.
