  • Depending on the wool you use depends on the size outcome, also I made this so it was a pretty tight fit as wool does loosen over time, you may need to alter the size slightly by adding more chaings at the beginning depending upon how big or small you do want it, just measure over your ears for the perfect fit.

this pattern is terrible a huge waste of time, used a med worsted yarn and size 6mm hook the whole thing was only 2 inches tall! didn't even cover my ears and the pattern is poorly written

So this is what my daughter in law has been asking me for. This looks easy, I think I can get a few of these done for her this next weekend. I am always after her to wear a hat, and she keeps telling me if I make her one that will not mess up her hair she will wear it. I think you just solved out issue, thank you!

What do you do with row 4 and 6 is it single crochet

What size crochet hook does this pattern require?

Hi there, Since you can use any sized yarn, it really depends. Before you start, check on your yarn package to see which hook would work best. Thanks! - Julia from FaveCrafts

i dont understand what ss means, and i dont understand about rows 4 and 6. i havent seen a pattern written this way before and ive croched for many years. i also havent seen an answer about the other questions that have been asked, so i dont expect a response. thank you for trying to submit a easy pattern.

Hi there, SS does in fact mean slip stitch. I'd be happy to contact the designer on your behalf - what is giving you trouble with rows? We can certainly ask the designer for modifications based on your feedback. Thanks!

Is ss slip stitch?

This is a very confusing, poorly written pattern. I am going to pass this up. Too bad, because the headband looks so nice.

FANTASTIC! I've been looking for this kind of "simple" ear warmer pattern for over a year. And the instructions are easy to understand and follow. Thank you for the share. - Pamela

Just like numbers 8 & 9 are NOT rows. They are instructions.

Good grief. It is not confusing. The numbers 1-9 don't indicate rows. They indicate the steps. Numbers 4 & 6 are not rows. They are just the next set of instructions. Thank you for this pattern.

Whay do I do in Rows 4 and 6? It just says to ch 1 and turn.

what does tbr mean

treble stitch

On rw 4 all you say is ch1 trn what else do you do on thi row.

These abbreviations are very confusing for a new person. It is much easier if you use the Universal abbreviations for stitches: they have been the same for years and just about everyone knows them. I've been knitting and crocheting for almost 60 years and it took me a minute to figure out some of these. It just didn't flow well.

I have the same problem, but with Row 6 as well. Have you figured it out yet?

what does ss stand for not sl slip stitch not sc single crochet

what kind of (ss) stiches are?

SS is Slip Stitch. It means to slip one loop through another

slip stitch you have sl st

love the easy ear muff pattern & I plan on making some for net year's church craft fair. I would really appreciate it you could give me an idea of which sie crochet hook to start with. Thank you so much. Sandy

You may have an answer but I would try an H, I or J- see which you like best. They each will make the same thing - just a slight difference in size. I have used all of the above. If you are giving/selling them- you will be ok to do this. You will know after you make a couple what hook you like or all. Hope I have been of some help.
