Potato Chip Scarf

Materials:

  • 1 ball Vanna's Choice Yarn:  Rose
  • Size J-10 (6 mm) Lion Brand Crochet Hook

Gauge: 13 dc + 6 rows = 4 in. (10 cm). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Hi, in anyone can help me. I'm a beginner (so far only ball-based amigurumi) english isn't my native, so i just don't understand. What doesn't it mean "dc"? Decrease? But how can i get more and more stitches, when i must decrease? Help, help, help! This scarf is great, i have to make it! )

Hi there - DC means double crochet. Hope that helps - Julia from FaveCrafts

I think this one if great. Great-granddaughters will love it.

@eliz3665 So glad you liked the pattern! It's a great scarf for girls of all ages! :)

As a newby to crocheting I found this pattern easy to follow. I just got done making this for my grand daughter. The scarf came out perfect, I actually added a 5th row to it. I ch 2 turned do 2 dc in the 1st sc, then do 3 dc in the next 3 sc, then 2dc in the next sc and repeat until the end and tie off. I would upload a photo if I could.

oops I meant in the 1st dc then do 3 dc in the next 3 dc, then 2 dc in the next dc and repeat

The blunt eye needle is used to weave in the tails from the beginning and end of your scarf. I suspect they put six in there because they are sold in a package of six? That's all I can think it could be.

@Member 15586 Thank you so much for the comment! That was the only thing I could think of as well. I double checked the pattern on the Lion Brand Website and they were listed there, too. I reviewed the pattern and didn't see another use for the needles, so I removed it from the materials list. Thanks for the comment!

@lingthomas7 7488476, I'm sorry to hear of your trouble. I have two options for you: 1. You can contact the pattern designer directly for help. The designer is specified in the byline. 2. I might also suggest that you try posting your question to our sites Facebook page. It is monitored by the editor and is a great resource for helpful tips and suggestions from our Facebook friends; perhaps they can offer some guidance! How could I make this pattern wider? Thanks

@lingthomas7 Since this scarf is worked across rather than up and down (like a normal scarf), all you need to do to make it wider is to repeat rows 2 and 3 until it's the length you want, then finish with row 4.

what are the needles for?????

@jwhite22 Good question! I double checked the pattern on the Lion Brand Website and they were listed there, as well. I reviewed the pattern and didn't see a use for the needles, so I removed it from the materials list. Thanks for the comment!
