How to Make a Soda Can Sunflower

Time is running out for garden crafts, but soda can flowers never wilt away. Learn how to make a Soda Can Sunflower from Heidi Borchers using recyclable materials. This is a fun and easy way to go green. Make your sunflower big and bold to match your personality.

Place one of these homemade flowers on your porch or in your garden. Cut the bottom and top off the can and begin creating grooves in the aluminum using an embossing tool. Apply alcohol inks to the surface of the aluminum and use a brush to cover the space. A dowel stick serves as the stem for this piece and you can simply glue the leaves and petals to form the flower. Cover the finished product with gloss so the piece really stands out and shines.

I haven't made it - I'm just rating her on her presentation which I thought would have / could have been alot better if she'd explained the leaves & the part to put around the stick.

I think I'm going to try this as poinsettias!
