Famous Nutcracker Decor

Everyone knows the story of the nutcracker, well now you can have him in your own home. American Acrylics help make this famous character into this beautiful decor. Your guests will love it.

Materials:

  • DecoArt Products Required
  • Americana Acrylics
    • DAO1 - Snow (Titanium) White
    • DAO36 - True Blue
    • DAO67 - Lamp (Ebony) Black
    • DA170 - Santa Red
    • DA230 - Festive Green
  • Dazzling Metallics
    • DAO71 - Glorious Gold
  • Wooden nutcracker
  • #0 liner brush
  • #12 flat brush
  • #4 flat brush
  • Ultra-fine permanent black marker
  • Water container
  • Palette or plastic plate
  • Water container
  • Red cabochon
  • Low-temp hot glue gun and glue sticks
  • White feather

Steps:

  1. Remove hair, beard, and arms. Set aside.
     
  2. Paint nutcracker as follows: knee bands, gloves, teeth, Snow White; slacks, True Blue; hat, belt, drumstick ball, boots, Lamp Black; jacket, Santa Red; drum, Festive Green; epaulets, drum top and trim, drumsticks, base; Glorious Gold.
     
  3. Use liner brush and Snow White to paint zig-zag lines on drum. Use brush handle end and Glorious Gold to dot on buttons on jacket and drum.
     
  4. Use marker to outline teeth.
     
  5. To reassemble: Insert arms; adhere hair and beard with glue gun. Position and adhere feather and cabochon on hat.
