Bright Holiday Cards

Using metallic papers, gold letters and rhinestones you can make these wonderful bright holiday cards from Beacon Adhesives. These make for great greeting cards to send to your friends and family. It'll bring them holiday cheer.

Materials:

Red Stocking Card

  • ZIP-DRY PAPER GLUE
  • GEM-TAC EMBELLISHING GLUE
  • 5” X 7” blank white card
  • Holiday light stickers
  • Small gold letters or use letter punches
  • Micro gold seed beads
  • Gold, red & green metallic papers
  • Stocking pattern
  • Ruler, paper cutter, scissors, pencil

Noel Card

  • ZIP-DRY PAPER GLUE
  • Gold, red & green metallic papers
  • 5” X 7” blank white card
  • Red seed beads
  • Ruler, paper cutter, scissors, pencil

Holiday Tree Card

  • ZIP-DRY PAPER GLUE
  • Gold ribbon with green & red accents
  • 5” X 7” blank white card
  • Red cardstock
  • Gold & green metallic papers
  • Small, clear rhinestone star
  • Ruler, paper cutter, scissors, pencil

Steps:

Red Stocking Card:

  1. Cut a piece of green metallic paper to fit on the front of the card. Glue in place with ZIP DRY PAPER GLUE.
     
  2. Cut a 3 ½” square of gold paper. Fit on the card as in the photo and glue into place with ZIP DRY.
     
  3. Trace and cut out stocking pattern onto red metallic paper. Cut out toe and heel patterns onto green metallic paper and glue those small pieces onto the rest of the stocking with ZIP DRY. Glue stocking to the center of the gold square and let dry.
     
  4. Punch out JOY in gold metallic paper and glue to stocking.
     
  5. Place a bead of GEM-TAC EMBELLISHING GLUE around the gold square one side at a time. Pour micro beads onto the wet glue and let dry. Shake off excess beads.
     
  6. Finish by sticking the holiday light stickers onto the green section of the card.


Noel Card:

  1. Cut small pieces 1” or less of all the metallic papers. Glue with ZIP DRY PAPER GLUE to front of the card starting around the outside edges. Keep gluing on the paper until all but a 3” X 2 ½” space remains in the center of the card. For more precise application, measure the open space before gluing on the papers. Let dry.
     
  2. Cut a rectangle of the green metallic paper 3” X 4” and glue over open space in the center of the card.
     
  3. Cut a ¼” strip of gold paper and glue around the green rectangle to create a frame.
     
  4. Lightly print the word NOEL onto the green paper using a pencil. Apply glue to each letter and sprinkle on the red seed beads. Use a toothpick to make sure each bead is in place and let dry. Shake off excess beads and then make sure each letter is covered. Add more beads if necessary.

 

Holiday Tree Card:

  1. Measure and cut a piece of red cardstock to fit on the front of the white card. Glue in place using ZIP DRYPAPER GLUE. Let dry.
     
  2. Cut a 3” X 4 ½” rectangle of gold metallic paper. Glue to the center of the red card.
     
  3. Draw a triangle for the tree onto the back of a piece of the green metallic paper and cut out. Cut small lengths of gold ribbon and glue onto the tree, hiding the ends of the ribbon onto the back of the tree. Glue tree to the center of the gold paper on the card.
     
  4. Cut strips of gold ribbon to fit around the edge of the gold paper to frame and glue in place as in the photo. Let dry.
     
  5. Glue the rhinestone star to the top of the tree.
