Recycled Jeans Lamp Shade Instructions

  1. Gather the materials that you will use to recover the lampshade.

  2. Cut the fabric to size by cutting the legs off of the jeans, then to the size of the lampshade.  Cut these in different sections to cover the shade properly.  Cut the bottom hem of the jeans off to make a finished edge on the top of the lamp shade.

  3. Spray the Spray Adhesive on the back of the fabric.

  4. Place the fabric onto the lampshade, line up the bottom edge and smooth over so that there are no bumps in the cloth.

  5. Use the inside seem of the jeans as the finished edge for the bottom of the lamp shade.

  6. Trim the excess material from the top of the shade.

  7. Aline and hot glue the edges so they stay in place.

  8. Cut a back pocket around the edge (leaving it a pocket).

  9. Hot glue the back of the pocket and place it on the lampshade.

  10. Use the bottom hem of the blue jean leg and hot glue it around the top of the lamp to give it a finished edge.

Oh my if this isn't the coolest Rockin lamp shade I have seen and a great one for a boys or girls room and I am sure they will think so too. Great way to recycle those jeans or use up some from the other jean projects or better yet use a pair that are no longer wearable but mean something to them. So super easy and I love that this tutorial actually uses the pocket. For a girls room why not add some lace or ribbon on the pocket for that added feminine look.

Best lamp shade I have seen, it is really cool

cool, gotta search for it to get pattern or instructions but very cool
