School Crafts for Kids

11 Teacher-Approved Crafts for School

The start of the school year can be tough for parents. School supplies are often expensive and don't always last long. Instead of heading to a big-box supplier and spending a fortune, have your kids create their own personalized school supplies. For example, you can help your children create their own Colorful Fabric Book Cover (p. 7) using old bandanas or scrap fabric. You can keep it simple or add a colorful pocket for pencils - it's completely up to you.

Kids can also create magnets to display their work on the fridge, and moms and dads can help kids make a picture frame covered in pencils. On the first day of school, be sure to grab your little student and take a picture - you'll want to remember this day for years to come. You can display the image in the DIY frame. Crafts for school have never been this adorable!

Back-to-School Activities

11 Teacher-Approved Crafts for School

There is never a bad time to start thinking about crafts for school. Just because summer is in full swing doesn't mean you can't plan for the upcoming school year. You don't have to make your back-to-school projects complicated or explicitly educational, either. Pick a few crafts that will appeal to your children's age groups and help them get excited to learn in the upcoming year.

Use a homemade Denim Back to School Chalkboard (p. 31) to keep track of assignments and after-school activities. The more personalized the craft is, the more your child will enjoy using it. Plus, you can use old denim scraps for this project - it's an easy way to save on fabric and upcycle items you no longer wear.

A School Bead Necklace (p. 32) is also a fun project. Your kids will love wearing their new accessory to school and showing it off to their teacher! Best of all, this project is super simple, so it's appropriate for elementary school children to make.

Stress and anxiety shouldn't be on the menu when the school year rolls back around. School should be a fun and safe place, so it's important for teachers and parents to create a calming environment. With these fun back-to-school craft ideas, kids will be excited to head back to the classroom and will be counting down the minutes until the bus arrives on the first day.

I agree. I am fed up having to go to a dozen places and still not find the one I want.

I agree. When I am told to 'click here for pattern,' I expect to see a pattern. I don't have time to go on a link clicking hunt to try to find it!

I used to like looking through the crafts, but now you can't even get through to the links. I liked it the way it was, and am going to remove my name from the e-mail list. Totally disappointed!

I agree....I'm not a teacher and not interested in school kids projects....I get e-mail with ideas that I would like to check out, and can never find it!! This is not going to be a place for me to go much longer if its not changed!

Free or not, this site needs to get its act together! Free doesn't necessarily give a pass to poor quality, and I hope they see these posts and respond accordingly to do a better job.

Free or not, they don't get a pass for producing sloppy work. I hope they read these critiques and respond accordingly and do a site that is worthy of their efforts.

I agree with the above comments.......Was glad & disappointed to know I was not the only one with this problem. All I want is the pattern for the one I clicked on and I never get it. Will soon give up on this site also.

Please tell me why I can't get the pattern I checked. Instead, this 11-teacher thing keeps coming up. Please explain..........

i don't think this was very helpful.

How do you click on the link if the page is open?

So many times now the pattern is not available for the project on list and it goes to the teacher approved. Very disappointing...the autumn tunic looks like something I would enjoy making for myself and others...

Can't we all just love one another? Crafts have a Magic about them. Most of the time we look at or make crafts to relax. Bring out our creative side. And put Our Love into each creation. Everyone has talent's :) No, this is not the 60's :) Lets not forget to give some credit to the people that put this site together for us for FREE! Computer's get/have Glitches. Bye, I'm going crafting now.

Keep getting the 11 crafts for teacher site. I have visited the bling buzz site many times and have never had this problem. Why can't the bling buzz site fix this. Very frustrating going to give up on the site soon

The comments above did NOT help me!!! How can I click on the same link, with the 11 teachers craft window open??? This has been going on for quite some time and I am getting VERY SICK of it!!! You have cute ideas in your e-mails, but I can't ever get to them to try and make them!!!!

For those of you having problems not getting the page you want, try clicking the link again while you still have the wrong page open. Then you will get the right one. This happens to me all the time when clicking on links. I don't know why it does that... annoying!

THIS WORKS .... Thank you so much. I know that there are problems when you have so much information on a website. I would never give up a great site like this because of this. REPEAT TIP: For those of you having problems not getting the page you want, try clicking the link again while you still have the wrong page open. Then you will get the right one.

Hi rmcowan, You are absolutely right - if you simply click on the link again, you should be directed to the correct page. We apologize for any inconvenience. - The Editors of FaveCrafts
