Painted Hippy Clay Pot

This lovely painted pot is for all the hippies out there. Using patio paint you can paint the word love on a clay pot along with some peace signs and hearts. This is a quick and easy craft that's just for you.

Materials:

  • DecoArt Products Required
  • Patio Paint
    • DCP01 - Pinecone Brown
    • DCP07 - Geranium Red
    • DCP14 - Cloud White
    • DCP57 - Marigold
    • DCP58 - Azalea
    • DCP59 - Sweet Pea
    • DCP63 - Blue Bahama
  • #0 liner brush
  • #8 flat brush
  • Sponge brush
  • Tracing & transfer paper
  • Water container
  • Palette or plastic plate
  • Paper towels
  • 6" clay pot

Steps:
Note: Let dry between steps.

  1. Use sponge brush and Pinecone Brown to paint pot.
     
  2. Trace and transfer design.
     
  3. Use #8 flat brush and Sweet Pea to paint band and letter E; Blue Bahama for letter L and large flower; Geranium Red for letter O; and Marigold for letter V.
     
  4. Use liner brush to add small flowers using Sweet Pea, Marigold, Geranium Red, and Azalea.
     
  5. Use brush handle end to dot flower centers with contrasting colors.
     
  6. Paint heart Azalea and Blue Bahama flower center with Sweet Pea.
     
  7. Use brush handle end and Blue Bahama to dot top band and random dots between flowers.
     
  8. Add small dots with Sweet Pea inside letter L and Marigold dots around large flower center.
     
  9. Use liner brush and Cloud White to outline lettering.
