Embellished Album Cover
Your local discount or dollar store is a great place to find little inexpensive photo albums. Buy them as party favors, or as a special gift, then transform these plain books into embellished, beaded treasures. It’s fast and easy with beads, tape and thread. Your album will look like it was purchased in a boutique!
Materials:
- Photo album from dollar or discount store
- Diamond Beadlets®
- 1-inch Treasure Tape roll (or use Treasure Tape sheets to fit the size of your album)
- Shallow pan or tray
- Flat-backed cabochons or pearls
- Kreinik Tapestry #12 Braid in 101 Platinum, 015 Chartreuse (or colors to match your album)
Steps:
- Lay strips of Treasure Tape on your album cover. Remove red liner to expose sticky area.
- Begin embellishing by placing the flat-backed cabochons in desired places.
- Then decorate with Kreinik Tapestry Braid. Create your own pattern, or follow the design printed on the album cover, as we’ve done in our model.
- When embellishing is complete, lay the album in your shallow pan and cover all remaining sticky areas with Diamond Beadlets®.
