Crochet Diamond Belt

This free crochet pattern from DMC Threads is a lovely design.The crochet cotton is a soft yarn that you will love. You know you want to flaunt this fashion belt and say you designed it as well as crocheted it.

Materials:

  • DMC Baroque Crochet Cotton (Art.159) 1 ball White and 1 ball Ecru.
  • Crochet hook size 5 (1.90 mm)
  • 30 (32, 34, 36) gold pony beads

Gauge 7 dc = 1”, 3 rows dc = 1”

Instructions ch = Chain
cont = Continue
dc = Double Crochet
rep = Repeat
sc = Single Crochet
sl st = Slip Stitch
sp = Space
st = Stitch
Method This pattern consists of crocheting the main body of a belt in rows. The “diamonds” are made by crocheting the body of the diamond with a bead added to the beginning of the last row. At the end of the last row, a chain is made, slip stitched to the body of the belt, and the body of the next diamond is worked.
Belt With Ecru, ch 237 (253, 269, 285).
1st row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in ea ch across, turn. 236 (252, 268, 284)sts.
2nd row: Ch 3 (counts as 1st dc), dc in next 3 sts, *ch 4, skip 4 st, dc in next 4 sts, rep from * across. Fasten off Ecru. Join White with sl st in last st. Turn.
3rd row: b Ch 3 (counts as 1st dc), dc in next 3 sts, *ch 4, skip 4 st, dc in next 4 sts, rep from * across, turn. Fasten off White. Join Ecru with sl st in last st. Turn.
4th row: Ch 3 (counts as 1st dc), dc in next 3 sts, *ch 4, skip 4 st, dc in next 4 sts, rep from * across, turn. Fasten off Ecru. Join White with sl st in last st. Turn.
5th – 6th rows: Rep 3rd – 4th rows once. Do not fasten off Ecru at end of Row 6.
Turn.
7th row: Ch 1, sc in ea st across. Fasten off.
Diamonds With Ecru, ch 11, skip 3 sts on belt, sl st in next st. Turn.
1st row: Ch 1, sc in ea ch across. Turn. 11 sts.
2nd row: Ch3 (counts as 1st dc), dc in ea st across. 11 sts. Turn.
3rd row: Ch 4 (counts as 1st dc and ch 1), [skip 1 st, dc in next st, ch 1] 3 times, dc in last st. Turn.
4th row: Ch 3, insert hook through bead, yo and pull through bead, ch 1, dc in ea st across, ch 11, skip 7 sts on belt, sl st in next st. Turn.
Repeat 1st – 4th rows 29 (31, 33, 35) times. Do not fasten off.
Finishing Ch 1, working along side rows of diamond and belt, work 2 sc in ea row. *For tie, ch 85, sl st in 2nd ch from hook and in ch across*. Working in opposite side of 1st row of belt, sc in ea sc, rep from * to *, working along side rows of belt and 1st diamond, 2 sc in ea row, join with sl st in end of last row. Fasten off.
